Originally from a northern council estate in Manchester, my earliest cultural influences were my brother and my grandad - from music, films and photography. This eventually led me to study a BA in Design and Art Direction at Manchester Metropolitan University.

After 19 years working across the UK and internationally, including Rwanda, Nigeria, Uganda, Morocco, France and Greece - as a camera assistant on feature films, TV drama, documentaries, live music events and commercials, I now work as a camera operator and 2nd unit DoP. Spending so much time on set has given me a strong understanding of both the technical and collaborative nature of filmmaking.

My background as an A-camera focus puller has given me a solid technical foundation and an instinctive understanding of storytelling through camera movement and emotion. I’m experienced in operating remote heads and love the freedom of handheld. I’m also now a Steadicam owner-operator, albeit in the early days.

I’m currently part of the NBCUniversal mentorship programme as a Future Cinematographer, continuing to learn from talented heads of department at the top of their field.

Alongside operating, I’m continuing to develop my cinematography through short films and collaborative projects, drawn to work that values nostalgia, depth and honest human stories.
